Ludo (लुडो) is the race game every Nepali child grows up with: four goti each, one die, and a race around the board to get them all home.

A turn

Roll the die.
A 6 brings one goti out of your base onto your starting square, or moves a goti that is already out 6 squares.
Any other roll moves one of your goti exactly that many squares.
If none of your goti can move, the turn passes.

Extra rolls, captures and safe squares

A 6, a capture or getting a goti home earns one extra roll (only one, even if a move does more than one of these).
Three 6s in a row: the third 6 is cancelled and your turn ends.
Land on a square with an opponent’s goti and it goes back to base. Passing over a goti does nothing.
Safe squares: the four starting squares and the four star squares. Nobody can be captured there.
Your own goti can share a square, and they never block anyone.

Getting home

Each goti goes once round the shared track, then up its 5-square home lane. You need the exact number to reach home; a roll that goes past can’t be used by that goti. The first player with all four goti home wins.
